Development Technique for Updip Pinch Out Zone of Glutenite Oilfield

  • It is important to redevelop the residual oil potential in the updip pinch out zone of reservoirs in glutenite oilfields at ultra-high water cut stage. Updip pinch out zones are characterized by thin oil layers, poor physical properties and low distribution factors. Features of residual oil distribution are long length, narrow width, thin thickness and poor control of well pattern. Wells newly putted into production have the characters of low production capacity and relatively long stable production period. Special ways are needed to redevelop the residual oil potential in updip pinch out zones. Specific well spacing patterns include using horizontal wells in single layer, extended reach wells in imbricated oil layers; multiple wells in uniform multiple layers and multiple bull's-eye wells in layers with small sporadic oil sand bodies in updip pinch out zones. Meanwhile, strict reservoir protection measures should be taken and jetted particle perforation technology should be used.
