Application of FMI imaging logging in shale gas formation of Sichuan basin

  • Due to the uniqueness of shale gas on the lithology and reservoir forming mechanism,the logging evaluation method used for conventional oil and gas exploration cannot be adapted completely for shale gas.Therefore,according to the characteristics of shale gas formation,special FMI imaging logging technology has been used to identify shale gas reservoir lithology,analyze in-situ stress state and describe reservoir fracture.FMI imaging logging of Shale-1 Y wells in Sichuan basin has carried out and the research results show it is of exploitation value,which provides powerful basis for reservoir evaluation,horizontal well drilling and fracturing technology of shale gas.
