Identification of upper Jurassic channel sand bodies in block 260D of south Turgai basin

  • Meandering rivers channel bodies are widely developed in a large set of mudstone strata of the upper Jurassic Aksabulake formation in block 260D of south Turgai basin, and the lithologic oil and gas reservoirs with channel sand bodies as reservoirs are formed. Through comprehensive utilization of seismic and logging response characteristics of river channels, channel shape, canyon shape and lenticular shape are identified longitudinally. The resistivity and natural potential of the channels show the characteristics of columnar, bell and spike curves. By means of root mean square amplitude and total energy attribute, the interwoven network distribution characteristics of river channel on the plane are predicted, the weight coefficients of these two seismic attributes are distributed in proportion, and their respective advantages are comprehensively utilized to achieve a comprehensive and accurate description of river channel plane distribution characteristics.
