Torsion Structure and Oil and Gas Accumulation

The determination of torsion structures, which are common in the basins in the Eastern and Weastern China, requires the use of both sectional and plane marks.The combination forms and essential features of torsion structures and the innuences on oil and gas accumulation are discussed in this paper. They control the generation, accumulation, migration and preservation of oil and gas in basins where echelon folds (anticlines and noses) are the most favorable accumulation zones.
