Application of 3-D Interpretation Technology in Exploration of Subtle Traps

3-D interpretation, newly developed in recent years, is a technology with which interpretation of 3-D seismic data can be carried out in 3-D space and seismic attributions can be fully utilized. The widely used conventional interpretation method of 3-D seismic data on 2-D vertical section has given way to this new technology. It performs visualized stereo interpretation of geologic bodies in 3-D space that combines point, line and plane from a brand new view point, thus can ensure fully study of geologic bodies. Application of this new technology in Xiaermen, Wangji and Gucheng oilfields in Biyang depression have led to discovery of a series of subtle traps which have been verified by exploratory drilling.
