With the restraint of seismic attributes to predict reservoir parameters quantificationally——an example from No.4 sand body of D oilfield in Bohai

  • With the gradual deepening of exploration and development of D oilfield in Bohai, reservoir heterogeneity has become an important factor in affecting the success rate of drilling. Therefore the quantitative prediction of reservoir parameters is a problem which needs to be solved urgently.Through the crossplot analysis of different reservoir parameters with multiple seismic attributes at well points which have been drilling, the seismic attributes with a high correlation can be optimized to express a reservoir parameter quantificationally. Then the quantitative relationship between them can be used to predict the reservoir lithology, physical property and hydrocarbon accurately. Therefore the prediction of reservoir parameters with restraint of seismic attributes can be achieved. The process consists of six main components:logging data processing, calculation of reservoir parameters, seismic horizon interpretation, extraction of seismic attribute, optimization of seismic attribute and conversion of reservoir parameter.Take the number four sand of D Oilfield in Bohai for example, the reason to optimize seismic attribute and the method of converting seismic attributes to reservoir parameters are mainly analyzed.Post-drilling wells confirm that the prediction result of reservoir parameter with the restraint of seismic attributes is very close to the real depth of reservoir. The predicted result can be used to conduct comprehensive evaluation of the reservoir and provide a reliable basis for the implement of development plan and optimization of well locations.
