Analysis on geologic framework and hydrocarbon potential prediction of west mountain front in northern Tuha basin

Abstract
The west mountain front in northern Tuha basin,loca- ted at the west thrust strip of Bogeda foreland basin in the north Tuha area,is of the most complicated structure and the most concentrated hydrocarbon resources within the ba- sin.Recent studies on the structure of thrust strip show that the tectonic structure is characterized by the zonation from south to north and the segmentation from east to west.Eval- uation on the basic factors of petroleum geology suggests that the area is closely near to the source sag,the hydrocar- bon pool is formed mainly in the Himalayan period, and the trap and the reservoir are the key factors of pool forming; hence the future target area for hydrocarbon exploration is presented.
