Salt structure type analysis and genetic mechanism discussion of Jiangling depression in Jianghan basin

  • According to drilling data and seismic profile, salt structure features, dynamic conditions of salt structure formation, its genetic mechanism and evolution have been discussed and analyzed in this paper. The analysis indicates three structural types, salt pillow, salt anticline and salt-apex, have been developed in Jiangling depression, which divides the salt tectonic activities into three stages. The sedimentary period of late Shashi formation-Xingouzui formation is the structural generation stage, the Jinsha period-Jinhezhen early period is he structral growth stage and the late Paleogene-early Neogene period is the structral formation stage. At the same time, the effect of salt structure activities on hydrocarbon accumulation has been summarized.
