The meshwork-carpet type oil and gas accumulation system in the Xinbei oilfield,Bohai Bay basin

The meshwork-carpet type oil and gas accumulation system is the new theory defined by the geologist of the Shengli oilfield during the course of exploring and developing. Kendong area fits the conditions of the system. In order to know the geologic structure and the accumulation rule of the oilfield,based on the exploring and developing practice,the study analyzes the course of oil and gas accumulation in the area and demonstrates the meshwork-carpet type accumulation system,gained following conclusion:The faults of Kendong area compose a dense fault-meshwork. It can be divided into two parts: one part is the big faults which communicating the oil-gas of under-layer and the storage hierarchy,the other part is the sub faults which communicating the storage hierarchy and the accumulate hierarchy. It is the precondition and linchpin of the accumulating system; The storage hierarchy of Kendong area is formed by blocky sandstone distributed steadily in the Lower Guantao formation. It is the foundation of the accumulating system. The research results show Xinbei oilfield is a typical meshwork-carpet oil and gas accumulation system which controls the types and distribution of the reservoir.
