Development of Geophysical Data Storage Technology

The rapid increasing of geophysical data profnotes theadvancement of data storage techno1ogies. This papersummerizes the development of hardwares and softwares.With respect to hardwares, more convenient physica1mediums with larger storage capacity such as disc and CDare put into use and drivers with more perfectperformance are developed, in respect to softwares, thespace that data occupied are reduced through datacompression,and more data can be st0red in the samstorage medium. Future development trend of storagetechnology are also discussed
