Optimal selection of favorable exploration target in Chang 8 reservoirs of Zhiluo oilfield

Chang 8 reservoirs of Zhiluo oilfield belong to delta front sub facies depositional sand bodies, and the plane distribution of sand bodies is mainly affected by provenance, sedimentary microfacies and hydrodynamic force. As a low porosity and low permeability reservoir, it has a good potential in exploration and development, which needs further extension on exploration. Through comprehensive analysis of sedimentary facies and reservoir quality, in combination with the relationship between the source rock distribution and abnormal pressure, 3 primary exploration target areas and 5 secondary exploration target areas were screened out. The main controlling factors of the hydrocarbon enrichment in Chang 8 reservoirs can be summarized as ‘close to hydrocarbon source, favorable facies and low–pressure district'.
