Status and Trend of Low Permeability Reservoir Fracturing Techniques

Since the first application of fracturing technologies in treatment of low permeability reservoirs in 1970s, low permeability reservoir fracturing technologies have made remarkable development in the following aspects: optimum fracturing design and 3D simulation design; harmless fracturing fluids; coated proppant; and diversification of fracturing technologies. This paper overviews the status and trend of low permeability reservoir fracturing techniques in the world and presents proposals on development of these technologies in China
