Study and Application of the Fracture Morphology and Orientation in Hydraulic Fracturing

This paper expounds basic principles of forming the fracture morphlogy and determing orientation. We determin that the fracture morphology are vertical in the thinning oil area of Henan oilfield by testing researches of 3D stresses size and orientation on rock. The fracture orientation in Shuanghe and Anpen oilfield are N68°E±5°. According to these results, analysed effectivenesses of fractured 150 wells. The relation between the fracture orientation with the place of fractured production wells and the water injection wells are established.
