Evaluation method comparison and study of application effect of ICD technique in eastern oilfield in south China sea

Abstract
As a measure of water control, ICD(Inflow Control Device) technique is widely applied in the the eastern oilfield in north China sea, while it is very difficult to evaluate the application effect of ICD, and there is no unified evaluation criteria and methods. By comparing and analyzing four conventional methods of evaluating ICD effect, i. e. dynamic contrast method, numerical simulation method, dynamic monitoring method and secondary completion method, the limitations of these four methods are obvious. On the basis of the mechanism of ICD and the actual situation of the eastern oilfield in north China sea, a new method of evaluating the application effect of ICD is proposed. This new method evaluates the application effect of ICD by comparing relative fluid extraction index. It is proved that this method is accurate and practical by the actual cases.
