Research and application of chemical water plugging in Shuguang oilfield

At present most of the blocks in Shuguang oilfield have entered into the later stage of development, with the problem of high water content of oil wells, which is mainly caused by bottom-edge water invasion at the later period of steam stimulation, thin oil injection into the high permeable interval and outside casing channelling. Therefore, chemical water plugging of heavy oil under high temperature has been adopted, thin oil has been used to plug high permeable layers and chemical water plugging technology has been adopted. These measures effectively decrease high water content, and obviously improve productivity of oil wells.
