Present situation analysis and application on viscoelastic surfactant fracturing fluids

The use of viscoeiastic surfactant (VES) fracturing fluids(also called Clear Fracturing Fluids)has changed the traditional operation of polymer fracturing fluids, which reduces the formation damage and pollution caused by it. In this paper, the composition, mechanism, present situation and application of available VES fracturing fluids in our country have been analyzed. It is concluded that the VES fracturing fluids has the following characteristics such as high efficiency, low damage and easy preparation. Finally some suggestions on how to develop the VES fracturing in our country are put forward.
