Application of comprehensive seismic interpretation technology in STUBB CREEK block in Niger delta basin

  • Based on newly acquired seismic data and reservoir research on the complex faulted-blocks of Stubb Creek in Niger delta basin, the thoughts and methods of exploring the complex faulted-blocks have been discussed. By using the coherent data volume and time slice, the distribution regularity of the faults have been studied. With 3D visualization interpretation technology, the space distribution of the fault plane can be reviewed. In combination with comprehensive seismic data interpretation technology, the method suitable and effective for the complex faulted-blocks has been chosen out. Therefore, two wells have been deployed and good breakthrough has been achieved in hydrocarbon exploration.
