Abstract: In view of the harsh surface conditions, complex stratigraphic structures and large drilling difficulties, the influences of various factors, including formation characteristics, mechanical rock breaking energy, hydraulic parameters, drilling parameters and drill bit, on the drilling speed in deep exploration wellbores and large diameter wellbores. Some technical solutions are presented to improve the rate of penetration and to provide technical references for increasing drilling speed in deep exploration wells.
