Status and Trend of Research on Sequence Stratig-raphy in Continental Basins

Sequence stratigraphy is a newly developed subject with strong vitality since1970s.This paper reviews the four development phases of this subject,introduces its status of research and application fields in respects of genesis of continental sequence,controlling factors,mode of sequence and system tract,and high resolution se-quence stratigraphy,analyzes its application in prediction of subtle traps,and discusses its development trend.
