Sand-rich sedimentary reservoir characteristics of Minghuazhen formation in KL oilfield

  • The main oil-bearing formation of KL oilfield is Neogene Minghuazhen formation,with the characteristics of high content of sandstone,developed reservoirs and superimposed distribution,being of the‘rich sand’sedimentary characteristics.The quality of seismic data cannot be used for conventional single sand body description.Based on the core,analytical testing,logging curve,and etc.,the characteristics analysis on reservoir lithology,pore features and physical properties was carried out.The analysis results indicate the reservoirs from Minghuazhen formation belong to shallow water delta deposits and the reservoir is characterized by high porosity and high permeability.Combined with sedimentary facies and logging facies,the reservoirs in the study area can be divided into three categories.After the extraction of the amplitude attribute,the sand boundary was portrayed,and the understandings on the reserves were renewed,which is of great significance for oilfield development plan and late production adjustment.
