An Analysis of Temper Brittleness of 2(1/4)Cr-1Mo Steel Used in Hydrogenation Reaction Chamber

  • Temper embrittlement can occur when the tempera-ture of2 1 / 4 Cr -1Mo steel utilized in hydrocracking and hydrofining reaction chambers reaches371℃to593℃.It is mainly caused by the impurities in steel such as ele-ment P,Sn,As and Sb.Experimental analysis show that temper embrittlement can be avoided through controlling chemical elemental composition of steel and strictly strengthening operational technological rules.
