Abstract: Western Canada sedimentary basin is one of the most abundant basins of dense oil resources in the world,being of huge development potential.With the gradual maturity of dense oil development technology,reduced development cost,high international oil price and good investment environment,the scale economy and the technique development of dense oil have entered a new round of development boom.Based on summarized conclusions of dense oil distribution regularities of western Canada sedimentary basin,the discussion of the dense oil development technology,its production status and characteristics has been carried out.The results are of certain reference significance for the evaluation and screening of Canada's dense oil project development technology and of practical application for dense oil development of other regions in the world.
