Abstract: The basic characteristics of petroleum exploration in Jiyang depression are summarized through analyzing the historical variations of the status level and benefits of exploration and the resource－reserve sequence． Good exploration effect has been kept for a long time in Jiyang depression and it is still in the period of high exploration level and benefits． Attentions paid to resource replacement and the rational resource－reserves sequence lead to the continuous development of petroleum exploration in Jiyang depression．
