Abstract: Describes the new peculiarities encountered indirectional drilling in middle and late periods includingwell-site arrangement and well designs. According to thespecific problems in specific blocks, a series ofcorresponding directional drilling techniques weresummerized, which consisted of well-site optimization,deep wellbore control, drilling fluids, optimization of KOPand borehole profile, etc. 13 directional wells were drilledin 7 blocks in 1995, and the high-quality wellbore ratiowas 100%.
