Abstract: At present the rapid development of dense oil exploration and development has attracted great attention in oil industry.Lacustrine organic-rich shale and mudstone have been found to be well developed in Chang 7 member of Yanchang formation in Ordos basin,with the distribution area of 6 x 104 km2 and has the characteristics of appropriate thermal evolution degree,large thickness,high organic carbon content and big dense oil exploration potential.Compared with the Bakken dense oil in Williston basin,except for obvious difference on sedimentary environment and formation pressure,good similarity has been found in structure characteristics,reservoir characteristics,hydrocarbon source rock properties,source storage configuration relations and fluid properties.Through the analysis and research on the basic geological characteristics and the enrichment regularity of dense oil in ordos basin,effective basis can be provided for the utilization of unconventional oil resources.
