Abstract: Preventing gas breakthrough and enhancing oil rimrecovery through rational utilization of gas -cap elasticenergy are the key to successful development of gas - capoil rim. It is very difficult to do so in long and narrowgas -cap oil rim reservoirs. Wei 2 block is typical of thiskind of reservoirs. Although different recovery processeswere applied in the south and north parts of this block,they both could not successfully avoid gas breakthroughand development effects were not desirable. This paperrescarches on rational recovery processes of this kind ofoil/gas reservoirs through summarizing and analyzing thedevelopment practices in his block.
