Abstract:
Qianjiang depression is a minitype- inland rifted lake basin. Cyclic variations of the content of major elements and trace elements are very obvious in the lake basin. The content, ratios change and combination of elements indicate the evolutional history of paleoclimate in a certain extent Based on contents of 15 elements such as Sr, Ba, Ti, Mn, etc, and 6 elements ratio changes such as Fe/ Mn, Sr/Ba etc, and in combination with paleosalinity and cores data, this paper carried out a systematical study of paleoclimate under which the Qianjiang Formation was deposited. The results showed that four characteristic paleoclimate types can be grouped: relatively- humid, hot -arid, warm-humid, and dry-humid alternation.
