Abstract: Because of background values of gas logging,the obtained gas logging values cannot reflect true hydrocarbon-bearing condition of formation;therefore,the value should be eliminated.With mathematical methods,applying the sums of minimal gas logging value and random gas logging values to judge background value while considering weight above certain depth,the effect of background values was lowered and then false anomaly was effectively eliminated, which helps to discover and evaluate hydrocarbon reservoir.
