Abstract: Hydrocarbon reservoir is not only the core assets but also the value embodiment of the oilfield company. On the basis of international standards and methods, the importance and progress of an oilfield company is determined, and then the rational reservoir assessment is carried out. This paper introduces the reservoir classification and value assessment methods abroad. According to the assessment standards and requirements of SEC hydrocarbon reservoir, great results can be obtained from value assessment.
