Abstract: Based on the evaluation of present method for se1ecting bit type and operating parameters, a new TOPSIS method is presented for bit selection. This method has the characters of few limited conditions and application easily. In this paper, the principal and steps are described in detail and an example is calculated using practical field data. A satisfactory results is obtained.
