Abstract:
This paper introduces three special types of unconventional oil pools, including special "oil in water" lithol-ogic oil pool, low permeability oil pool with low oil production and high water cut at the high position while high oil production and low water cut at the low position, and high permeability oil pool with non - uniform oil - water contact. The formation of these oil pools are closely related with reservoir heterogeneity. Based on comprehensive analysis of the depositional environment of reservoirs, migration of hydrocarbons into traps and the process of water displacement, this paper highlights the influences of reservoir heterogeneity on oil accumulation, oil and water distribution and flow conditions in the process of formation of these unconventional oil pools.
